Magazine subscription for a sports car enthusiast – would help everyone else, are estimated – Bday gift?

HELLO. My husband's birthday is at the door. He is a sports freak. What would be your subscription to the magazine the best for him? It is especially in speed and performance. Not so much old-timers. It's really hard to shop, buy, because it for everything he wants at the drop of a cent. Any idea what else to get him? I've already bought him time at the racetrack to race, that was fun, but I can not repeat the gift. I gave him some strange tuner, what he wanted last year. He has a Trans Am and has approximately 10,000 U.S. Dollar on changes in the last 6 months long. How can I compete? I think he would be the subscription to the magazine, but something like that Can you tell me to say what is the best?

"Car and Driver and Motor Trend are" sports car mags but they usually have a new car stuff too …. Since he has a transposition / Am, function "Hot Rod" or "Car Craft" magazine a lot. There are also "Pontiac" only journals. Wrangler Try to save a book. It is usually a very magazines. You can get some ideas there and write it down websites to which they are ordering.

Sports in the Pulp Magazines (Paperback)

Sports in the Pulp Magazines (Paperback)

$43.86

From the late 1800s through the first half of the 1900s, pulp magazines–costing a dime and filled with both fiction and nonfiction–were a staple of American life. Though often overlooked by popular culturalists, sports were one of the staples of the pulp scene; such standards as the National Police Gazette and All-Story carried some sports stories, and several publications, such as Sport Story Magazine, were entirely devoted to them. An overview of the pulps is followed by an examination of those devoted to sports: how they came into being, the development of the genre, the popularity of its heroes, and coverage of real-life events. The roles of editors, writers, artists, and publishers are then fully covered. A chapter on Street & Smith, the foremost publisher of sports pulps, follows, while a concluding chapter discusses the reasons for the demise of the pulps in the early 1950s.

Old Magazines, Second Edition, will delight both collectors and dealers. Author Richard E. Clear has 30 years of experience dealing in periodicals, and wrote his first book on magazines in 1974. Magazines from many different areas are included: movie, trade, fashion, farm, sports, and more, and over 300 new color photos have been added to this edition, representing the thousands of magazines available. The book focuses on the more common, easily recognized and attainable copies rather than rare issues. Each listing includes information such as title, size, volume, publisher, dates published, all known names of the magazine, and a realistic market value. Because old magazines often span large periods and appear in literally thousands of issues, Clear gives criteria for spotting the more valuable issues. Included in this new edition is a list of illustrators with information about where to find their work, a suggested grading guide, a list of paper dolls by name and where they can be found, and a ten-page section on advertisements.

History of Men´s Magazines

History of Men´s Magazines

$41.48

1970s: Under the counter "Separation is great, as long as the separation is of my thighs." ?Adults Only Open your notebooks, sharpen your pencils, and get ready for a history lesson like none you?ve ever experienced. You?re about to learn everything you could ever want to know about the world history of men?s magazines?not magazines about sports, not fashion, not hunting or fishing or how to build a birdhouse in ten easy steps, but those titillating periodicals embracing the subject dearest to all heterosexual men?s hearts and other body parts: the undraped female form. Former men?s magazine editor Dian Hanson traces its development from 1900 to 1980 in six massive and informative volumes. Volume 6, the final word in this encyclopedic series, is reserved for the most daring and extreme edges of the publishing field. In the late 1960s adult bookstores and sex shops spread across Northern Europe and North America to house an increasingly explicit crop of magazines resulting from the international sexual revolution. Magazines sold on the newsstand had to conform to mass taste and morality, but in the sex shops the only limits were imagination. In the 1970s, drunk on freedom, editor?s imaginations ran wild. Come peek inside the sex shops of Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Holland and the US to see what liberation really meant. Read about Berth Milton, the man who toppled Sweden?s obscenity laws with his magazine Private; the Danish Theander brothers whose motto was, "The First, The Biggest, The Most Pornographic"; Reuben Sturman, founding father of Southern California?s vast sex industry; John Sutcliffe, who made gasmasks sexy with his Atomage magazine; and worst film director Ed Wood Jr.?s secret and surprising men?s magazines. Volume 6: 1970s Under the Counter contains 460 full color pages of covers and magazine interiors and 18 chapters of information-rich text. Together with Volume 5 it forms a complete overview of men?s magazine publishing of the 1970s. With Volumes 1 through 4, these two books complete the six-volume set of Dian Hanson?s: The History of Men?s Magazines.

History of Girly Magazines (Klotz)

History of Girly Magazines (Klotz)

$22.48

Pin-ups from the 19th century to the 1960s It all started around 1900, and wouldn?t you know the French were the first? Whether you call them men?s sophisticates, nudie books, or girly magazines, this long-ignored art form has a rich international history. Author Dian Hanson, a girly magazine editor for 25 years, follows the evolution of the genre from 19th century France through the Jazz Age, two world wars, the breast-centric 1950s to the end of the swinging 60s. Along the way you?ll see hundreds of vintage magazines from Argentina, England, France, Germany, Mexico, and the US. Some covers are exquisitely painted by top pin-up artists Enoch Bolles, George Quintana, Earl Moran, and Peter Driben. Others are posed by Hollywood stars like Jane Mansfield, Tina Louise, and Marilyn Monroe. All are fascinating artifacts of their time, including La Vie Parisienne, the first men?s lifestyle magazine from 1900; jazz-infused Sex magazine from 1926; legendary fetish digest Bizarre from 1949; Hugh Hefner?s Playboy from 1953; up to hippie-inspired Nude Rebellion from 1967. In 33 chapters and 676 pages you?ll see these and many, many more, accompanied by a fact-filled, informative text sure to give you a new appreciation for the magazines once kept hidden under the mattress.
